I love anything made out of Soya chunks, be it biryani or curries. We all know that its very nutritive and hence Vegetarians should include it in diet as often as possible as its a rich source of protein.
Most of the weekends are a feast day for us when I prepare typical Kerala cuisines coupled with something sweet to cater my family's sweet tooth and if I don't make something sweetish for some reasons then hubby would buy something from the shop to sooth their urge or else H and kids start looking for Jaggery or anything sweet in the kitchen.
Its raining cats and dogs here almost every day, especially in the evenings and thus its so difficult to control the temptation to have tea along with something crunchy and spicy fried snacks.
I love to have idiyappam or appams with either Kerala style Potato curry or with Kadala(Chana) curry. Today I prepared Potato curry as side dish for Idiyappam and thought will share with you all.
Tomato Onion chutney goes very well as a side dish with Idli, Dosa, Uttapam etc. Its a bit spicy and does not require coconut to be added. It could be made in advance and can be refrigerated for 3-4 days .
My amma is so fond of muringa illa thoran and moru curry/drum stick leaves Kadi that, twice a week she used to include both these dishes in the menu list but my brother and I never used to like it, so poor amma had to prepare another curries /dishes of our liking and slowly the frequency of dishes using Muringa ila/Drumstick leaves reduced in our house.

Appams/Rice pan cakes are synonymous to Kerala and has become an identity for Keralites although its very common in other parts of South India as well. The basic ingredient of any Appam are rice and coconut and then you just change the few ingredients of the appam.
